There is more than one way to protect a computer, but there is also more than one way to break into it. A password can be cracked, overheard or figured out. If you protect your computer with something physical, which you can carry around with you, no one will be able to use your computer, no matter how skilled he may be. With Rohos Logon Key, you can convert a standard USB flash drive into a security token for your computer. When you start your computer, you will not be able to log in, unless you plug in the flash drive.

The application is not free, but you can try it out, free of charge, for 15 days. It will not take long to download, even on a slower Internet connection and the installation process will go fast. Its compatibility includes all operating systems from Win 2000 to Win 7.

The application's compact interface lets you create a physical security key for your PC, without too much effort. The whole process is done from a compact interface and there are very few options involved. Before making any settings, you will need to have your USB device plugged in. You can set up a password for your account by clicking the Change Password hyperlink on the interface and typing it in the window which will show up. The password can be as long and complicated as you want, because you will not have to remember it in the long run. The password will be applied to the account and it will be saved on your flash drive. The Setup USB Key hyperlink will bring up a window where you must type your password again and click a button on the lower edge. The flash drive will be turned into a security key immediately, without having to wait for a progress bar to fill. Next time you turn on your computer, you will be prompted for that long and difficult password and instead of typing it, you can just plug in your flash drive. You can also protect the flash drive itself with a PIN number from the same window where you turned it into a key. Just click a hyperlink and type the PIN number.

Rohos Logon Key works with other devices as well, including memory cards, bluetooth phones and many others. If the device is unplugged, the application will shut down the computer, lock it, end the current session, activate the screensaver or make the computer go to hibernate mode. The device type and actions can be selected from two drop menus, on the application's general settings panel.
